Over the years, I've been asked many times about the secret Easter Eggs that exist in some of our production switchers. You had to know someone who knew someone find them. Today, I'll reveal a few of my favorites.
Acuity, Vision, and the Synergy 1 through 4 all have the ability to become a functional slot machine (no money, sorry), play asteroids, and several other surprises put in there by dedicated programmers with a sense of humor.
The photo attached shows Acuity playing asteroids. It's fun to note it also shows it running in UHD with HDR available, but that's me slipping into marketing mode... In the background is a cameo of Russel, who wanted to point out that the first bug he ever logged still hasn't been fixed, which is that the gun follows Newtonian physics and the bullets have the velocity of the ship, instead of a constant velocity which is the way Asteroids is supposed to be played. Sorry, we've been busy on other things!

To enter Asteroids on Acuity:
Home, More, Diagnostics, Panel Diagnostics, Module test, Device test, F4 double pressed.
Use the Joystick to move and button on top to fire.
Clear in the joystick area brings you back after you die.
To enter Slot Machine on Acuity:
Home, More, Diagnostics, Panel Diagnostics, Module test, Device test, F5 double pressed.
Move the top fader up and down twice to make the one armed bandit spin! Good news - it's programmed that over time Ross customers win, rather than Vegas odds!
To enter 'Prop Mode':
Get the permission of your facility's engineer, disconnect the panel's Ethernet cable, type 666 on the main keypad, and see what it does! (apologies for the 666).
On Synergy only:
If you go into the prenamed BNC menu, press F2 F3 a few times (I think), the list of names available will change to every Simpson's character up until the mid-2000's. It's a long list!
I'll keep one secret. It's possible to have the Synergy preview overlay scroll the names of every person that helped develop the Synergy Series, in a format similar to how it's done in the movie The Princess Bride. That one is accessed differently than all of the above. You'll never find it without knowing someone that knows someone that worked on the code.
